[Please note this position has now been filled]

We're looking for a talented graphic designer to join our team.

This is a really exciting time to join our agency. We’ve grown a lot since 2015, adding additional team members to our books, securing notable clients as well as strengthening our skills and expertise.

Working for us, you’ll get to devise brands for a wide range of clients as well as develop creative campaigns and exciting designs for print and online. Artworking and typesetting come as standard, but your role will also include web design so experience of creating user-friendly sites is a must.

As a branding agency we specialise in creating strategic identities but we’re also unique in that we’re able to offer clients marketing support alongside this. So you’ll not only need a deep-rooted passion for brand strategy, but idea generation too - we have marketing experts, but it’s a team effort coming up with new and exciting ideas on how to market products, ideas and key messages.

Communication skills are really important too as you’ll be heavily involved in delivering brand workshops as well as playing your part in client presentations and meetings. You’ll be able to rationalise every design decision, demonstrating a clearly thought-out creative process, whether through written or verbal communication. Ideally you’ll have an interest in creative writing and have ideas around how brands can be expressed through words.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organised individual - we’re a small team so we need you to be able to take the initiative sometimes, taking charge of projects and tasks. We'll also expect your creative and conceptual thinking to come with bags of common sense, commercial awareness and client empathy.

You’ll need at least 2-3 years experience in the industry so you can hit the ground running. Ideally, you should also have a design related degree and be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of After Effects (or other applications) plus skills in photography and / or illustration will be advantageous to your application also.

This is a full-time role with flexi-time arrangements and an early finish every Friday (providing we hit our deadlines!).

Whilst there is no deadline for submission, as we want to find the right person, we ideally want to place someone in position by the end of January / beginning of February 2020.

If you think you’ve got what we’re looking for, please email your portfolio, a covering letter and CV to Beccy Owen, our Creative Director at beccy@thecreativealchemist.co.uk Your covering letter should explain why you’d be the perfect fit for us and outline your salary expectations. Your portfolio should demonstrate how your skills and experience match the job role described above - explain the projects clearly, including write-ups of the initial briefs plus explanations of how your creative solutions hit each clients’ requirements. Whilst it’s great to view Behance accounts / personal websites, please don’t use these as a substitute for an actual portfolio. Any applications that do not attach a portfolio, send a covering letter or attach a CV will not be considered. If you have any questions in advance of your application please email Beccy at the email address above.

Please note: we only want to hear from candidates directly, so no recruitment agencies.
