Do you scrutinise the design of the menu when you’re in a restaurant, know that ‘bleed’ isn’t anything to be scared of and question anyone using the typeface Comic Sans? If this sounds like you, then you could be just what we’re looking for!

We are an independent, creative agency in Middlesbrough, specialising in brand strategy and marketing, and we're looking for a graphic designer to join our team.

Your workload will be varied, including brand identity development, creative campaigns as well as design for print and web. You‘ll be confident with the small jobs like artworking and typesetting, but also have a deep-rooted passion for brand strategy and idea generation.

You’ll be able to rationalise every design decision, demonstrating a clearly thought-out creative process whether through written or verbal communication.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organised individual. We also expect your confident, creative and conceptual thinking to come with bags of common sense, commercial awareness and client empathy.

You should also have a design related degree and be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Working knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite programs will be advantageous.

Please email your CV, portfolio and salary expectation to our Creative Director, Beccy, at beccy@thecreativealchemist.co.uk.

We want to see portfolios that demonstrate the design thought process from brainstorm through to final execution. We would expect this to include initial rough sketches, unused ideas, moodboards or research-based work. Please also include write-ups of the initial briefs with explanations of your creative solutions.

If you have any questions in advance of your application you may also send these to Beccy at the email address above.

There is no deadline for submission - it’s about finding the right candidate. If this post is live we are still looking, but don’t dilly dally.

*Please note: we only want to hear from candidates directly so no recruiters please.
