BRIEF  | Acklam Hall approached us to create a distinctive campaign for the venue’s Christmas and New Year offering. The new concept would be used to advertise an array of events including Christmas party nights, festive afternoon teas as well as lunches at the hall on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. The brand needed to be sympathetic of the current identity for the hall, taking into account traditional values, the heritage and target audience.

RESPONSE  | Through a series of workshops with the client we named and created a sophisticated and festive campaign concept called ‘Deck The Hall’ – a play on words using the title of the famous Christmas carol. Acklam Hall is a beautiful, Grade I listed building, so to compliment the brand, we created sophisticated hand-drawn visuals, staying away from bold and bright colours and heavy reliance on graphic design. We wanted people to feel inspired to discover the magic of the hall, feel enchanted by the visuals and intrigued to find out more.

RESULTS  | As part of the campaign we created a range of materials including adverts, website imagery, social media imagery, menus to be used to promote the events and a promotional leaflet. We also set up and managed a social advertising campaign for Acklam Hall to target the local area and previously untapped potential customers, as well as exploring a range of media and advertising tactics to promote the campaign in local and trade publications.

The success of the campaign became obviously very early. Visually the campaign gathered positive feedback across various channels and within two weeks of the campaign launch, Acklam Hall sold out their Christmas day and New Year’s Eve bookings.
